What cat furniture to I need to get?

To make your cat happy she should have cat trees to scratch and/or climb and bedding where she can cuddle up in. Do you just have a scratching post? – That is fine too. Does she prefer your bed instead of a cat bed? – Don’t worry, she is not alone. Every cat is different and likes different things.

 

My dear two and four legged friends,

As you might have noticed, we cats love to find places to hide. Be it under a sofa, cabinet, bed or in a closet or drawer, we adore nice warm and dark places. Now if they are also softly padded – that is even better.

I am a lucky cat. My dad brings home any kind of bedding he can find. Last week he bought me this very comfy cat tent

and yesterday, something that looks like a turtle shell, or well, are you Mario Bros fans? I am, and there is this really adorable flower that is trying to eat you – and this cat bed kind of looks like that. Now if it were red with white dots………. You get my drift  

I am not always this fancy. I also love a nice shipping box which gets an upgrade if you put a paper bag in it, so I can hide and it makes noise

When you look at the picture you will undoubtedly say, “This bag has handles. That is dangerous”. Yes it is, but my dad is watching and would never leave me alone with a bag with handles on it, so there is no danger for me to get stuck and injure myself.

When you look at my pictures you will see cat bedding, cat tress, cat toys, boxes for me everywhere. That makes me the luckiest cat ever.

There are not many guardians out there, who put my needs in front of them; who rather step over my cat box than put it away; who leave my chase toy in the middle of the dining room floor without removing it; who leave my cat bed on top of the dining table for me to sleep in and watch the front door; who installed a glas storm door extra for me, so I can watch what is going on outside; who buy 4 cat trees, so I see what is going on inside and outside the house at any time, and many many more things.

So, let’s get back to cat trees and cat bedding. I, as all cats, love to stretch and scratch. Now that is nature to us. We must sharpen our claws in order to hunt, or defend ourselves. If you provide us with a nice scratching post we promise to leave your furniture alone. But unfortunately I know of some cat families, where the guardians do not want to put up a scratching post, not alone a cat tree, because it does not fit into the décor. And then, when their furry friend scratches the furniture they get mad and lock him in a room or want to get rid of him altogether…
