My friend the Opossum

Do you have an opossum as a friend? No? Why not?

Opossum at healthycatdetective.com

Hi everyone,

Sorry mom and I were a little busy and have not really kept up with you all.

Mom is working and also preparing things for our store to sell, which should be up soon – and it does not only have cat themed items, but all different kinds like jewelry, baby clothes, etc.

She also finished the snuggle blankets, so now she has to get the package together to drop of at the shelter… and Christmas is coming, oh yeah – the tree is up. I like my tree and no, I am not climbing it this year, unless of course there is a lizzy friend hiding in it – then there are no guarantees….

opossum at healthycatdetective.comNow as you can see from our headline and the picture – I have a new friend – an opossum. Yes it is a real one and mom is a little apprehensive about it, but dad loves him and sometimes even feeds him some of my food.

He is very nice and quiet and we are not afraid of each other. I leave him alone and he does the same to me. He is really a very good guy. He eats the bugs and snails I do not like and he also eats dead animals and cleans the yard. So he is a very useful guy.

Mom read up about him and is fine with him being with me in the yard. Opossums are not scary animals. They are nocturnal and they are more scared of you. They can also play dead if they feel cornered, just like a lizard. But they don’t loose their tail, like lizards do. They just fall over.

They also carry their babies in a pouch, just like a kangaroo – they are America’s Marsupials.kati yawning at healthycatdetective.com

So if you have them in your yard, don’t chase them away. They are friendly and very useful. You want them in your yard.

So now I am ready to go to sleep. I will post a picture of our beautiful tree in my next post.

Do any of you have an opossum as a friend? If so, let me know and send me pictures.

Sorry, my pictures are a little fuzzy, but it was night and mom could not get a good shot, because my opossum was moving very fast.

A very big miau to everybody and have a great weekend!

The Joy of Hunting

Every cat likes to hunt. Does your cat hunt toys or is she also hunting bugs and other living animals?

kati-sitting-on-her-cat-tree-by-healthycatdetective-com

Hello everybody,

Hope your weekend is going great. Today I want to talk about the joy of hunting. And oh, what a joy it is….miau!!!

Every cat it born to hunt, no matter where she is born. Indoor and outdoor cats equally hunt. The only difference – outdoor or feral cats hunt for survival, and indoor cats hunt for fun.

I consider myself a semi-outdoor cat because dad and mom take me out on a leash, but I am still allowed to hunt bugs and lizards.

And when I am indoors, well, a cat wand with some feathers are a wonderful thing to hunt.

The other day I was out with dad and I brought a pretty good sized lizard home – oh whatkati playing with a lizard at healthycatdetective.com fun, well for me at least…. sorry Mr Lizard….

I kind of chased him around for a while, but as all lizards do, once he had enough he just played dead.

It is satisfying for a while, but then it gets boring and I want to go out again to get another lizards that is more cooperative.

kati playing with a lizard at healthycatdetective.comThis was my second hunt. But that one did the same thing – after a while he played dead.

So my conclusion – it is fun while it lasts and very rewarding. But playing with a toy is just as rewarding and lasts as long as I want, because mom and dad are very willing to play until I get tired.

So my dear friends, what do you hunt – live animals or feather toys? Let me know and if you have a questions, you can always write on my QA board.

Have a great weekend and a big Miau to everyone

Black Cats on Halloween

Being a black cat on Halloween is not fun. Do you have a black cat? What do you do to protect her on Halloween?

halloween by healthycatdetective.com

My dear fellow cats and guardians,

I have a plea for you today. Tomorrow is Halloween and we black cats are in danger on the otherwise fun day.

People have been afraid for centuries of black cats – I never understood why. We are normal cats just with a dark coat. There is nothing mysterious about us.

But people have this superstition that we bring bad luck and we are punished for it.

It is especially dangerous for us being out on Halloween. There are sick people out there that torture and kill animals for fun, and on Halloween we black cats are going to be the target.

So my dear guardian, please keep your black kitties inside tomorrow, so they won’t get hurt.Kati outside by healthycatdetective.com If your kitty walks on a leash, go ahead and take her outside – but not by herself. Also keep her away from the door where your Trick-or-Treat kids come for candy. Kids are loud and do crazy things to make themselves scary – but that also scares us. Some of us get so scared that we run out the door and with all the scary kids out there we can get easily lost and possibly hurt or killed.

So, please, keep us away for our safety.

Mom also read that many Shelters do not adopt out black kitties around Halloween in order to make sure that they are not being adopted just to torture and kill them. This is a great thing and I wish every shelter would participate in that.

Now I hope you all will be safe and have fun tomorrow. If you have some funny Halloween pictures, please send them to me, and mom with make a gallery to show them off.

I wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween and a big miau to everyone!

Ants in Food Dish – Again – Trying new Food Bowl Setup

Do you have problems with ants eating your cat’s food? I can’t seem to get rid of them. Now trying new Food Bowl Setup…

Food Tray against ants from healthycatdetective.com

My dear fellow 4 legged friends and guardians,

Let me just say – I do NOT want ants in my food. I know mom is very hard working on a solution to keep those pesky critters out of my food dish.

But let me rewind a bit.

Mom got the bowl in bowl system pretty good under control in my regular food dish space. But I have another place in the hallway where there is more food in a dish on a metal stand. So far everything was fine. But suddenly a week ago mom came out of the room and saw my hallway food dish overflowing with ants. They must have come from outside through the walls near the bathroom and gotten into the hallway.

She packed the whole thing up and through the food plus ants out, washed the dish and stand and vacuumed the whole house to prevent any ants from finding anything. Then she went on the hunt for entry points and found a crack in the door jam of the bathroom, where the ants were coming out. So she put ant traps down and also some ant poison gel with a barrier for me, so I could not get to it.

Finally after two days the monsters were gone. Dad went around the outside of theWater filled tray to repell ants from healthycatdetective.com apartment and sprayed the perimeter with, I hate to say it, insect poison.

To prevent the ants getting into my regular food bowl, mom took care of them by putting dishwashing liquid on the floor around the carpet were my food bowls are sitting on. She also put a drop of dishwashing liquid in the bottom bowl filled with water, where my food dish is sitting in. But I am not too crazy about it, because I can smell the dishwashing liquid when I eat my food. And that makes me loose my appetite.

So the last few days mom was trying to get to me to eat any which way she could. She even put my regular food in little piles on my cat tree instead of treats. And yes, I eat that…

Yesterday she was searching again for something that would work fighting off the ants and came across a tray that is set up with a column in another tray filled with water. Basically the same strategy she is using with my two food bowls. But that tray is quite expensive and there is no guarantee that I am going to eat from it.

So mom got a plastic container she had and used it as the base. She took two cottage food dishes on water filled tray to repell ants from healthycatdetective.comcheese plastic cups and put them upside down into the tray. Then she took a piece of cardboard and glued a silicone cutting board on top and attached the two plastic cups on the bottom. She glued two velcro pieces on the bottom of the cups and the inside of the tray and filled the whole thing with water. She placed it on my eating mat and put the food dishes on top.

Well – it scared me half to death. This is one strange looking thing and I do not want to go near it. Sorry mom, I know you worked very hard on it, but that thing is scary looking. So now we are back to my food bowl in a bowl filled with water – oh well…..

But mom said she is going to try another version with a clear tray and top, so it is not so scary for me. I will definitely try, but no guarantees… I will keep you all updated on the progress.

If you have problems with ants, tell me your stories…. I would love to hear them

Now have a good Sunday and a big Miau and Purrrrrr to everyone

Talking Cat

Does your cat talk with you? Do you talk back? You are not alone!

Kati ouside in the backyard by healthycatdetective.com

Hello everybody!

Hope everybody is well. As always mom is lending me her helping paw to write to you.

What I want to talk to you about today is something I think every cat owner knows about – the talking cat! This applies only to conversations with humans. We cats do not talk to other cats, but humans need us to say something, so they can understand us.

Yes, I am talking with mom and dad. Especially, if I want something. Let me give you an example.

I love to go out and dad or mom do take me out in the evening, and sometimes dad takes me out in the morning.

But outside of those times I frequently see something outside, like another cat, or a lizzyKati looking for lizards on the tree by healthycatdetective.com and then I really want to go out. Now mom and dad do not know what I see, so I start crying and miauing and running from window to window until they get the point. And I do not stop miauing until one of them gets up and takes me out.

This morning mom was working, but there was a cat outside in the yard and I needed to get out to claim my territory. So I miaued until mom couldn’t take it anymore – sorry mom – and took me out. Well, by then the other cat was gone, but it was still fun to be outside in the fresh air.

Now another time I talk very loud is, when mom has my food ready and I urge her on to put it down, so I can eat it. I know, I know, very impatient. But what can I say – I am a cat, a cute one at that.

Sometimes when both are very busy I have to take on different measures, like scratching at the door very insistently, and I already took out a big chunk of rubber seal, just to get them to take me outside.

What kind of tactics do you apply to get your humans to do what you want? Let me know. I am curious to hear. Maybe I can learn something new.

I wish you and your humans a wonderful weekend.

A big miau to all!

Hurricane Matthew stay safe everybody

Hurricane Matthew passed us by, but my friends at Blind Cat Rescue in North Carolina are just in the middle of it!

Kati in her box by healthycatdetective.com

Stay safe everybody!!!!

Hurricane Matthew passed us by here in Miami. It was just a little bit of wind and rain. But then it moved up the coast and is now approaching North Carolina, where the Blind Cat Rescue Sanctuary is located.

Mom and I really love that rescue, because they give blind and FIV+ and FELV+ cats a forever home. Nobody else cares for those poor kitties and shelters just kill them, because nobody wants to adopt a cat that is blind or is FIV+ and FELV+.

Now I am not very fond of other cats, sorry mom, I want you and dad to myself, so mom is sponsoring a cute cat at BCR. Her name is Jewell and she is blind. Her fur is black like mine and she also is not that fond of other cats, just like me.

So I hope Jewell and her friends at BCR are staying safe during Hurricane Matthew.

I will check in with them later on.

Right now I am going to take a well deserved nap – had lots of playtime and spa.

Big Miau to everybody and pray for all the kitties that have been and still are through Hurricane Matthew.

Snuggle Blankets coming along

Your shelter might need snuggle blankets! And Toys and food and treats….

Kati in her cat cube at healthycatdetective.com

Hi my dear furry and not so furry friends,

Mom is hard at work with her snuggle blankets. By now she has completed 1 small, 1 large, 1 small bunting and 1 large bunting is on the way.snuggle blankets by healthycatdetective.com

She emailed the shelter yesterday to ask, if they need the snuggle blankets and they were so happy that we are going to make them a bunch. Well, mom is.

But I am donating my two litterboxes I do not need anymore and toys I am not playing with. So those poor kitties at the shelter have something to play with too.

We also have treats that we are going to bring them once mom has finished her blankets.

And I am going to donate some of my cuddle blankets. I have so many, that I can give some away.

So, do you have things your cat does not need anymore?

I am sure there are toys around the house that your kitty does not play with anymore, right? Put them together and donate them to your local shelter. If you are not sure that they take those kinds of donations, just call them ahead of time and see what they need.

Now if you can knit and crochet, the ones mom made are easy to make. Think about it. You can use up all those yarn pieces that are hiding somewhere in a  basket or box. You are doing something good for shelter kitties and make room for more yarn.

Ok, I am ready for my afternoon nap.

I wish you a good miau and talk to you later

Quick word about pet insurance

Do I need to get pet insurance? Yes or No?

Kati on the cat tree by healthycatdetective.com

Dear guardians of my furry friends,

The pet insurance question is kind of a tricky one. My mom and dad looked into pet insurances a while back and every one of them stated that you have to pay upfront at the vets office and then eventually, if everything is in order, they will reimburse you for the treatment.

That is something that is not very helpful. If I have to pay the whole amount first, and then hope that some part of it is covered and I get reimbursed, I do not need pet insurance.

Also, pre-existing conditions are not covered. Well, I do not have any, but the once mom checked all wanted you to sign up and then they will review the medical records and tell you if and what is not covered. I do not want to sign up into a binding contract and then find out that I am only covered for accidents for example.

There are so many things you have to pay extra, for example one of the pet insurances saidKati in her cat house by healthycatdetective.com that you have to get the more expensive plan, if you want the wellness visits covered. Really? I think those are the most important visits, because, if I am healthy, I will not need medical treatment. This is all backwards.

So eventually mom decided to not get pet insurance for me. Our vet is wonderful, because if I need some big medical treatment, mom and dad can pay in installments.

But by keeping me on healthy food and healthy treats, mom and dad try to limit any medical problems. Yes, I have to go to my yearly visits to see, if everything checks out, but that I do not mind – I like the car rides…

Also mom is asking for tests first, before I get any kind of shots. The one I have to have is the rabies shot – it is mandatory in Florida, but I get the 3 year one, so it is not so bad. Everything else will be determined, depending on the test.

So my dear guardians, do you have pet insurance for your furry kids?

Let’s talk about it. I am looking forward to a big miau conversation.

Miau Miau and I am going now to take a nap.

Help for Blind Cats

Do you want to adopt a cat? Why not adopt a blind cat?

Blind cats are normal cats. There is nothing wrong with them. They are happy and healthy cats. Only difference – they can’t see. So, what’s the problem? There is no problem!

Kati outside with Lizard by healthycatdetective.com

Hi my furry friends,

Mom is very active on Facebook – about to set up our Healthy Cat Detective page, so she is now following a wonderful site Blind Cat Rescue. Here is their website: http://www.blindcatrescue.org

These wonderful people take in blind cats and give them a forever home.

Blind cats have it very difficult, because shelters do not want to keep them on the grounds that people would not adopt a blind cat. So they are the first to get euthanized. I feel so bad for those kitties.

They are normal cats like you and me, they just can’t see. But they don’t feel they are different. It is not an impairment for them. They can climb cat trees, they play,Kati hunting lizards in the tree by healthycatdetective.com they run around and are happy.

So why not adopt a blind cat. There is only a couple things that have to stay the same at all times: keep their food in the same place and keep their litterbox in the same place. That’s it.

Cats navigate by their whiskers. So when they walk their whiskers tell them, if something is in they way, and they walk around the obstacle. People that adopt blind cats can even move their furniture. Cats will walk around – I promise.

Blind cats can get a little disoriented, especially if you pick them up and walk around with them. So after you cuddle with them and hold them, put them down near their food or litterbox. So they know where they are. If they come to you to cuddle on their own, there is no need to do that, because they found their way to you and they know where they are.

Kati exploring a pile of wood outside by healthycatdetective.comYou can even take a blind cat outside. Put her on a leash and let her explore. She will be so happy to have grass under her paws, and she can experience all those wonderful smells. Just don’t let her outside on her own. That would be very dangerous for her, because she can get into trouble, or other animals could attack her. But if you take her out she will feel safe and have lots of fun.

It is so easy to take care of a blind kitty. We all need to get the word out and help them get adopted. If you are going to adopt a cat, why not choose a blind kitty. Ask your shelter if they have one, or if they can let you know, when one comes in.

Every cat deserves a loving home. Please help!

Here is my BIG THANK YOU MIAU!!!

Working Cats Adoption Program in Minnesota

Do you have a business that has problems with pests? Do you have a shed, garage, barn, etc. that has pest problems? Why not adopt a working cat!

Kati outside in the grass by healthycatdetective.com

My dear two and four legged friends,

I hope you are all doing well. Today mom read an article from Dr. Becker that introduces a program for unadoptable cats – the “Working Cat Program”. You can read the whole article here:

http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2016/09/01/working-cat-program.aspx?utm_source=petsnl&utm_medium=email&utm_content=art2&utm_campaign=20160901Z1&et_cid=DM115239&et_rid=1644780669

So, what is this article about? Well, the Animal Humane Society in Minnesota instituted a program that places cats that do not do well as house cats, but are litter box trained, in businesses or places where they are needed as mouse, rat, etc. catchers. You give them shelter, food, medical care and they “work” for you.

Here is their website:

https://www.animalhumanesociety.org/adoption/working-cats

I think this is a wonderful idea, because it can save the cats life if they are otherwise unadoptable.

Ask in your shelter, if they have, or if they would consider a program like that and you might get an invaluable “employee”.

So, I love that idea of a working cat program. If you do too, please spread the word!

A big miau to everybody!

Helping Shelter Animals

Do you love to knit? Do you love to crochet? Then you can help shelter animals in a big way.

Kati in Cat Bed with Pawprint Blanket at healthycatdetective.com

Hello everybody!

Today’s post is for our 2 legged guardians. And sorry that I talk to you from the comfort of my bed Emoji

When you read the headline I am sure you were wondering what I am talking about.

Well, mom came across a beautiful website that is making blankets for shelter animals.

The website is http://www.snugglesproject.org/

They are dedicated to providing blankets, baskets, bunting, toys, etc. for shelter animals in order to make them comfortable and less scared.

You do not have to become a member in order to make blankets and give them to shelters. You can just get some of the patterns they have on their website, make the blankets and bring them to a shelter that is on their list of shelters that have joined the Snuggles Project and want to provide them to their animals. If you don’t check the list, please call your chosen shelter first before you go, because some of them do not provide their animals with blankets and so do not have the facility to wash them.

You can even print out a form that can then be used for a tax deductible.

Being a member links you with other people that have the same passion and you can even join groups or open your own group.

Mom has already started on a blanket. We do have several shelters in our area that take snuggle blankets.

So come and join this beautiful cause with mom. You can send us your pictures and we will make a gallery where we display your wonderful snuggle pieces.

Thank you for listening and I hope we will get to see your pictures.

A big miau to all!

My Lizard Addiction

Do you love lizards or iguanas?

Do you have them in your yard? Yes? Ok, I am coming over!!!

Lizard in the hallway by healthycatdetective.com

Hi my four and two legged friends,

Lizards! Oh I am addicted to them. I drive mom crazy when I bring them home with me.

Now, let me start at the beginning. When I was little and still an inside cat, once in a while a little lizard came in the door with mom or dad. Oh, what joy! Hunting, catching, playing!!! Just what a kitty heart desires!

And I got very good at it Emoji

Once I went outside I was in lizard heaven. Big ones and small ones, lizards and geckos, anything my little heart desires. Sometimes there is even an iguana. You see that beauty there? Let’s get a close up – oh yeah.iguana outside the window by healthycatdetective.com

Iguana on the window screen by healthycatdetective.comLizards are very active in the evening, so I make sure dad or mom takes me out late. Many times I can already see them from my window and once the door opens I pounce. Then I make sure I can get back in quickly and my harness is released.

Then I play with them by chasing them, carrying them around in my mouth and watching for any movement so I can pounce. I don’t want to hurt them, just play with them. And I do not want to eat them either, they do not taste good….

But unfortunately they do not last. Some that get away from me and hide underneath the stove or in the closet have a pretty good chance being discovered by mom and taken outside. But I have to admit, most of them do not survive and that is when mom is not happy with me – when she finds the lizzy grave yard.

But I cannot help myself, I am a great hunter and that is what I do. But mom never says anything or is mad at me. Mom does not do that. She never raises her voice. I don’t do things on purpose and I don’t bite into the lizzy on purpose. I just want to hold on and carry it to a quiet place where I can play with it.

Now that iguana you see in the picture – he was a little scary, sooo big and not afraid of me at all.

So I prefer lizards, and there are plenty of them in our backyard. I go hunting every night.Looking for lizard in tree pot by healthycatdetective.comShaking lizards from the tree by healthycatdetective.com

I can just dive into the pots and dig for lizards. I can also hear them from all the way over atWaiting for a lizard by healthycatdetective.com the door. That’s where I usually sit in wait for any movement. And then I run and jump into the pot. I usually come out with a nice catch.

So my dear friends, I will now eat some treats and take a nap, so I am fresh and rested for my lizard hunting session tonight.

A happy miau to all of you and paws up!

Raccoons and Cats

Do cats and raccoons get along? Is your cat in danger if she encounters a raccoon?

Raccoon at night by healthycatdetective.com

My dear fellow furry friends,

Do you like other animals? Well, being a cat I prefer to choose my own friends. Think cats and cats, cats and dogs, cats and raccoons, cats and opossums.

From a small age I was not happy with fellow cats – sorry my furry friends. But I just wanted to protect my territory. So when dad took me out and I saw another cat, I ran and chased it away – big time. I know this was not nice, but I cannot help myself. Even big cats ran away from me. Mom was not happy with that behavior, because we have some homeless kitties and mom felt so sorry for them. She wanted to take care of those cats too, but I would notlittle raccoon by healthycatdetective.com let her.

Now little dogs are no problem for me. I don’t care about them at all. Our neighbor has several little ones like chihuahuas, they are annoying, but I just ignore them and they do the same. There are a couple of larger dogs in our neighborhood, but I only hear them, never see them.

My favorite time to go outside is when it gets dark, or is already late. We live in a residential neighborhood, but we do have a lake – very common in Florida. So there are some wild animals around too – no, nothing as scary as small raccoons atnight by healthycatdetective.comalligators. But we always had opossums and raccoons. And every spring/summer they have babies. I find them cute, but mom is not so amused by it. Mama animals protect their young at any cost. So our raccoons already attacked one of the residents in the stairway, so not a good situation. cute or not, they stand their ground and will attack when they have children.

So when I go outside my dad keeps me on a long leash – that way I can roam around wherever I want. But with mom it is a different story. She won’t let me go far. She always has me in her sight because of those wild animals.

Now once in a while I meet the raccoons and the opossums, but even dad pulls me back andTwo raccoons at night by healthycatdetective.com puts me in the house. Which does not prevent them to come around to our windows and doors.

The other day I was inside sleeping while dad was watching TV and I saw the raccoons in the parking lot, right outside my door. They were very close and they had their kids with them. It was a nice sight, at least for me.

But mom says they all carry deseases, besides having flees. You can get Baylisascaris infection (round worms) from raccoons, as well as Leptospirosis, which is a bacteria that even in humans, if not treated, can cause kidney damage, liver failure, meningitis and even death.

Two raccoons at night by healthycatdetective.comSo, as much as I like to be outside and make friends, it might be a good idea to stay away from wild animals.

Now it is time for my afternoon snack and a nice long nap.

Miau and leave me a comment below, if you ever encountered a raccoon or opossum.

Attention: Finding Forever Homes Event Saturday July 23, 2016

My dear readers,

Please, on July 23rd, 2016 NBC and Telemundo are hosting the annual Clear the Shelter event with shelters across the country. This is the link to my hometown event http://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/Clear-the-Shelters-Give-a-Pet-a-Loving-Home-383809791.html

Help my friends get a forever home and check your local shelters for times and locations.

We have so many homeless pets that live a lonely life in a shelter without someone to love them. I am a rescue myself, but was lucky that I did not have to go to a shelter, because my mom came and picked me up before my first family had to move where they could not have pets. But other pets are not so lucky.

So before you go out and buy a pet at a store, please check out the shelters in your area. You will find many many many lovely pets waiting for a wonderful person like you to take them home.

So please, join this event on Saturday July 23rd and let us know in the comments, if you found a pet and gave him a forever home.

I want to thank you upfront in the name of all the wonderful pets in the shelters.

Keeping Hours like a Cat

Do you keep hours like your cat? Are you up at night roaming around? Do you wake up early? What do you do to keep yourself busy in the early morning hours?Cat Sleeping in Cat Tent by healthycatdetective.com 3

Good morning my dear 2 and 4 legged readers,

As you can see, I am still needing my beauty sleep. Why? you might ask. Well, mom is still not adjusted to US time. She has jetlag pretty bad.

So the last days she was up anywhere from 4am to 5:30 am. Today now dad had to go to work early. So mom woke him up at 5:30. She was already wide awake and chipper. Buhhhhh. I was still sleepy.

I know, I should be the one who keeps those early hours, just like a real cat that is awake during the night. That plays with anything that makes noise – paper bags, crinkle tunnels, balls, twisty ties – yes, they are my favorites Emoji

But mom beats me right now. I was still sound asleep when she came into the room. SheCat slowly waking up in Cat Tent by healthycatdetective.com then made dad some coffee and decided to clean my water fountain. Oh yeah, I really like that because I drink lots of water and prefer clean drinking water. Mom never leaves the water longer than 3 days in the fountain and then it gets a thorough cleaning.

Today she took lots of pictures to show you how to really get that fountain clean. She takes it all apart, cleans it and puts it back together. That is very important, because that keeps the parts very clean and that in combination with filtered water gives me delicious fresh water to drink.

Now I know not everyone of you my furry friends have the luxury of drinking water from a pet fountain, but hopefully after your parent reads this post and the review on this page, they might consider buying you a pet fountain.

Kati drinking from Pioneer Pet Fountain by healthycatdetective.comI used to have only a bowl with water and that got changed once or twice a day. I never really was that excited about that bowl. But after my preference of dry kibble, yes I know, not good for me, mom and dad decided to buy a pet fountain for me. They searched and got a stainless steel Pioneer Drinking Fountain.

When they got the box, unpacked it, filled it and put it in a nice accessible area, I was immediately drawn to it. Now don’t get me wrong, I know some of you might be hesitant to go there, but let me tell you, it is no big deal and you will find that the running water is delicious.

Now, have your mom or dad check out the review and cleaning instructions on here. There is also a review on my moms Almost Paleo blog here almostpaleo.org

So, by now I am pretty much awake and after a long playing session with mom I am a little hungry. When mom and dad went to theCat awake in Cat Tent by healthycatdetective.com store yesterday they got me some kind of saucy treat with tuna and shrimp flakes in lots and lots of Delectable Stew by healthycatdetective.comsauce. Well, it is not as healthy as mom would like, but once in a while I get something as a treat. And that one I am crazy about. Mom gave me a little bit yesterday and I immediately finished it. And then today after cleaning my fountain she put some more in, she had to take it out of the refrigerator first and let it warm, and I gobbled it up. It was just too delicious.

So, are your parents keeping hours like you, or do they like to sleep in the morning.

I love to hear your thoughts, so get your paws on the keyboard and write me a message Emoji

So have a great and cozy day and big miau to all of you!

I am so glad you made it. As I promised, my mom is really working hard to get you lots of important information on raising a healthy and very happy cat. We have some basic pages on cat food, cat litter, cat trees, cat toys and so forth already up on the site.

Mom is working on going into detail about the different cat food brands, what kind of cat litter would be for you, which cat toys are for what kind of cat personality, etc.

Adopt a Cat

We are also going to have a page on everything you need to adopt a cat. In addition we will put search forms for cat rescue sites up, so you can already look for a kitty in your area, while you are browsing our website.

I am very excited, because mom is working on a little adoption starter guide for you that you can get for free when you sign up for our newsletter. So look out for that. It is coming soon.

That adoption starter guide is written by both of us, but mainly in my voice, because adopting a kitty is the most important cause for me. There are so many kitties in shelters around the country and many of them get never adopted, being it due to age, health or color. Trust me, black cats are not bad luck. I know what I am talking about. I bring mom and dad a ton of joy every day and I know that they would never ever give me away, not for a million Emoji

Newsletter coming up

So as you can see, we are busy here. Now our newsletter will give you some news about different products we tried out – yes, dad is buying anything and everything for me to try out, so I can have a clear opinion and can give really good advise. There will also be some funny cat stories for you to read with your coffee. I am really looking forward to that.

In addition, mom is going to write this blog with updates at least twice a week, so you are always up to date on important things about cats.

Cat Health, Picture Gallery and Cat Stories coming soon

Mom is also planning some more pages, like a kitty health page, my picture gallery, oh yeah, I am looking forward to that, and maybe a kitty story page.

Now, if you like anything on our pages or on our blog, please don’t hesitate to click on the social media buttons and share that content with your friends.

Facebook and Twitter in the making

I was told that we are going to get a Facebook page and a Twitter page. Although I don’t personally know how it works, I am sure mom can figure it out Emoji

So stay tuned and I hope you are as excited as I am to get to know you better. Please comment and stay in touch.

Now, if you don’t mind, I will go and take my beauty nap.

A good miau and see you soon,

Yours truly,

Kati
