Hi my furry friends,

Mom is very active on Facebook – about to set up our Healthy Cat Detective page, so she is now following a wonderful site Blind Cat Rescue. Here is their website: http://www.blindcatrescue.org

These wonderful people take in blind cats and give them a forever home.

Blind cats have it very difficult, because shelters do not want to keep them on the grounds that people would not adopt a blind cat. So they are the first to get euthanized. I feel so bad for those kitties.

They are normal cats like you and me, they just can’t see. But they don’t feel they are different. It is not an impairment for them. They can climb cat trees, they play,Kati hunting lizards in the tree by healthycatdetective.com they run around and are happy.

So why not adopt a blind cat. There is only a couple things that have to stay the same at all times: keep their food in the same place and keep their litterbox in the same place. That’s it.

Cats navigate by their whiskers. So when they walk their whiskers tell them, if something is in they way, and they walk around the obstacle. People that adopt blind cats can even move their furniture. Cats will walk around – I promise.

Blind cats can get a little disoriented, especially if you pick them up and walk around with them. So after you cuddle with them and hold them, put them down near their food or litterbox. So they know where they are. If they come to you to cuddle on their own, there is no need to do that, because they found their way to you and they know where they are.

She will be so happy to have grass under her paws, and she can experience all those wonderful smells. Just don’t let her outside on her own. That would be very dangerous for her, because she can get into trouble, or other animals could attack her. But if you take her out she will feel safe and have lots of fun.

It is so easy to take care of a blind kitty. We all need to get the word out and help them get adopted. If you are going to adopt a cat, why not choose a blind kitty. Ask your shelter if they have one, or if they can let you know, when one comes in.

Every cat deserves a loving home. Please help!

Here is my BIG THANK YOU MIAU!!!
